Christie J. Conetta is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of New York and California. She holds a Master of Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northeastern University. She has served in leadership and clinical supervisory positions in New York City, and holds additional training in clinical practice, meditation, psychoanalysis, and addiction.  She has over twenty years of experience in mental health and psychiatry in a variety of clinical settings including structured outpatient programs, inpatient psychiatry, mental health initiatives, and private practice. Christie helps her clients find their way back to the essence of who they really are – valuing truth, authenticity, and meaning. She believes wholeheartedly that change and healing is always possible, even when it seems impossible.

Working with Christie will be a supportive and collaborative journey to discover and heal that which ails you – your struggles, relationships, wounds, or whatever it may be that is causing you disharmony in your life. As a naturally intuitive, compassionate, tender and deeply empathic therapist, Christie creates an environment for her clients that allows them to move at their own pace while journeying inward. She places emphasis on the life narrative and personal story, with particular consideration of early childhood relationships and environment as related to who we are in the present. She focuses on drawing awareness to the understanding of the relationship to self, the inner knowing, and always considers the interplay between mind, body and soul. Christie believes in the capacity for change that arrives in the context of a positive therapeutic relationship, and the healing that is derived from being seen, understood, witnessed, heard, and emotionally held in the therapy process.

Christie demonstrates a special ability in weaving her theoretical and practice background with the art of therapy, seeing each individual as a multifaceted being with a unique story to their own. Though psychodynamically trained, her approach is largely integrative, humanistic, systemic, relational, and heart-centered. She focuses heavily on the healing of the mind, body and spirit collectively and often utilizes mindfulness, meditation and therapeutic writing in sessions to complement traditional psychotherapy. Her specialties include depression, loss and grief, and helping individuals navigate change and transition at pivotal moments in life.
